Pool Brain app

Pool Brain is founder-run pool service software that emphasizes configured workflows and technician accountability: service levels with required readings and checklists, route optimization, billing controls, and inventory. Its per-technician pricing can cost less as a team grows, so it is worth pricing for growing companies that want tight control over field work.

I’m Parker Conley, the founder of PoolDial, which competes with Pool Brain, so read this as a competitor’s review rather than an independent one. My personal take is labeled as opinion below.

What is Pool Brain?

Pool Brain covers the core of a pool service business: routes and scheduling, technician service workflows, customer and service history, readings and chemistry records, billing, invoices, payments, and QuickBooks Online. Its site identifies Adam Beech as founder and CEO and says he scaled his own pool service company past 1,000 pools (founder background).

The product is organized around service levels, with required readings and checklists that technicians follow at each stop. It adds scheduled invoices, payment-decline retries, inventory, and truck and tool tracking (Pool Brain’s workflows).

Tradeoffs to check

  • Google Play showed 3.4 from 137 reviews, well below its 4.9 on Capterra, as of August 9, 2026
  • Skimmer’s comparison page calls Pool Brain harder to learn and support; that is a competitor’s sales claim, so test it
  • AI phone answering was not offered when our PoolDial comparison was first written; check what is available now

To test the usability claim, let a technician complete a route, let the office configure a service level, and ask Pool Brain to show its onboarding and support process. Skimmer’s comparison

Capterra 4.9 (27 reviews) · Google Play 3.4 (137 reviews)

164 reviews across both platforms

A snapshot checked August 9, 2026 on Capterra and Google Play; 4.2 is a simple average of the two platforms. The gap between the component scores says more than the average, so have a technician test the field app yourself.

Founder’s take

Pool Brain is founder-run, brings real pool-industry experience, and emphasizes technician monitoring. Its interface feels older to me. Skimmer criticizes its usability, onboarding, and support, but I would test those competitor claims with your own technicians.

Pool Brain’s formula is lower from three techs upward, so it may be the budget-conscious alternative. For a larger company, I would choose Skimmer over Pool Brain.

Choose PoolDial if you want a more modern product, direct founder support and product input, or confirmed regional currency and metric-unit settings. If those settings matter, verify Pool Brain’s regional support directly.

Who should use Pool Brain?

  • Owners who want configured service levels, required readings, and technician accountability
  • Growing teams that want pricing tied to technicians rather than pools
  • Budget-conscious companies adding technicians
  • Buyers who value a founder with pool-operations experience

Before you buy, configure one real service level, build and optimize a technician route, complete a stop with your required readings and proof, then create an invoice, retry a payment, and test the QuickBooks flow. Price the team you expect to have, not only the one you have today.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Pool Brain cost?

As checked August 10, 2026 and rechecked October 29, 2026, Pool Brain’s published pricing is $50 a month plus $65 per active field technician, so five techs come to about $375 a month and 15 techs to about $1,025. Its calculator covers 0 to 50 technicians. These are estimates, not quotes.

Does Pool Brain integrate with QuickBooks?

Yes. Pool Brain connects with QuickBooks Online and documents what its initial import brings across. Confirm the customer, invoice, and payment records your bookkeeper needs before switching.

Why are Pool Brain’s Capterra and Google Play ratings so different?

As of August 9, 2026, Pool Brain showed 4.9 from 27 Capterra reviews and 3.4 from 137 Google Play reviews. Google Play reviews are written about the mobile app, so the gap is a good reason to have a technician test the field app on a real route.

Who founded Pool Brain?

Pool Brain’s site identifies Adam Beech as founder and CEO and says he scaled his own pool service company past 1,000 pools.

Is Pool Brain a good choice for a larger pool company?

Its technician controls and per-tech pricing make it worth evaluating as a team grows. As PoolDial’s founder, my recommendation for a larger company is Skimmer over Pool Brain. PoolDial is currently the strongest fit for businesses up to roughly 200 pools and a few employees.
