PoolDial and Pool Service Software are both built specifically for pool service companies. Pool Service Software, or PSS, offers a deep pool toolkit and lets a company use every feature free for up to 10 properties. PoolDial is a newer, more modern operating foundation with direct access to the founder. The decision is less about whether either can run a pool route and more about which experience, pricing model, and switching decision fits you.
I’m Parker Conley, the founder of PoolDial, so read this as a vendor’s comparison rather than an independent ranking. My personal recommendation is labeled as opinion below.
They cover a lot of the same ground
This is a pool-software comparison on both sides, and the overlap is substantial:
- Recurring routes, scheduling, and technician assignments
- Readings, dosages, LSI, photos, notes, and service history
- Customers, properties, equipment, and repair work
- Invoices, online payments, and QuickBooks Online
- Mobile field work and office management
- Service reports, GPS records, and team permissions
Because both connect office management with field work, the practical decision should focus on the exact workflow, interface, pricing, and migration experience your team will live with every week.
Where each one stands out
Pool-specific depth, with every feature in the free plan
- All features free for up to 10 properties
- Readings, dosages, LSI, chemistry history, and configurable service tasks
- Chemical, dosage, gas, route, and labor-cost visibility
- Shopping lists, inventory, equipment, warranties, jobs, and quotes
- Orenda help-desk and LaMotte meter integrations
- QuickBooks Online sync, Stripe payments, GPS, and offline field work
On entry price and chemistry-focused depth, PSS has the stronger case. It defines a property as a body of water to track, and its paid tiers are based on property count. Pool Service Software · FAQ
A modern interface and a direct product relationship
- Modern mobile and office workflows designed together
- Pool-specific routes, chemistry, equipment, service history, and billing
- A cleaner foundation for owners starting or formalizing a route
- Unlimited users under the current published pricing
- Regional currency and metric-unit settings
- Direct access to the founder while the product and your company grow
The tradeoff: PoolDial is newer, with less public review history and a smaller ecosystem today, and it costs more than PSS at every size below.
Mobile App Experience
Your technicians will use the app at nearly every stop. These are each product’s own screens; the better test is a full route on the devices your team already carries.
A positive app-store signal and very small samples
Pool Service Software’s scores are a snapshot checked August 12, 2026 on Capterra and Google Play; 3.7 is a simple equal-platform average. PoolDial’s rating was checked October 28, 2026 in Apple’s App Store. The Google Play signal for PSS is positive, but a three-review Capterra sample and PoolDial’s three ratings are much too small for a confident ranking.
How pricing changes as you grow
PSS starts free and prices by property: free through 10 properties, $49.99 a month through 50, $99 through 100, then $0.95 per property. PoolDial charges $2 per active pool with a $40 monthly minimum and unlimited users. On published price, PSS costs less at every size in this table.

Illustrative estimates, not quotes, from published pricing checked August 12, 2026. One PSS property per pool is assumed, and monthly list prices are shown without the PSS 15% annual discount. PoolDial’s 750- and 2,500-pool rows are extrapolations above 500 pools, where it asks companies to contact sales. Phone answering is included with PoolDial. PoolDial pricing · Pool Service Software
Founder’s take
A couple of Pool Service Software users explored moving to PoolDial and chose to stay with PSS. A free, familiar system and avoiding migration or retraining work are legitimate advantages that can outweigh an interface preference. Staying with PSS can be rational.
In those limited conversations, my impression was that people liked the PoolDial interface better. That is feedback from a couple of prospects, not a broad usability study. For a new foundation centered on a modern interface and direct product input, I prefer PoolDial.
Put both products through the same week
PSS wins on published entry price; PoolDial’s case is the interface and the product relationship. Give both products the same week of work:
- Complete a full route with readings, dosages, LSI, photos, and notes.
- Trace chemicals, supplies, mileage, time, and service costs.
- Run a repair quote, job, invoice, payment, and QuickBooks sync.
- Request a sample export before deciding how hard a later move would be.
Then ask yourself two questions. Would the interface improvement justify migrating my data and retraining my team? And do I need the deeper PSS chemistry, cost, inventory, and meter integrations today?
Details worth checking
- Taking your data with you
- I did not find clear public documentation for a complete PSS outbound export. That is a question to verify, not a claim that exporting is poor. Check which customer, property, service, chemistry, invoice, and attachment data comes with you. PoolDial has import and export tools.
- QuickBooks Online
- Both connect. PSS lists QuickBooks Online sync and Stripe payments. Have your bookkeeper test a real invoice and payment in either product.
- Water-testing meters
- PSS integrates with LaMotte meters and the Orenda help desk. PoolDial uses manual reading entry with automatic LSI calculations and does not currently integrate with photometers.
- Offline work
- PSS lists offline field work, and PoolDial’s mobile app works offline and syncs when you reconnect. Include a stop with poor connectivity in your test.
- Phone answering and website
- PoolDial’s published pricing includes AI phone answering and a website builder. PSS does not list either; ask them if you need one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Pool Service Software really free?
For small accounts, yes. PSS includes every feature free for up to 10 properties, where a property is a body of water to track. After that it charges $49.99 a month through 50 properties, $99 through 100, then $0.95 per property. Prices checked August 12, 2026.
Is PoolDial worth the extra cost over PSS?
It depends on what you value. PSS costs less at every size in our estimates, and staying on a free, familiar system avoids migration and retraining. PoolDial’s case is a modern interface, unlimited users, included phone answering, and direct founder access. PoolDial is currently the strongest fit for businesses up to roughly 200 pools and a few employees.
Should I switch from PSS to PoolDial?
Only if the interface and product relationship justify the move. A couple of PSS users explored PoolDial and chose to stay, which can be the right call. If you consider switching, request a sample export first and check which customer, property, service, chemistry, invoice, and attachment data comes with you.
How do the PSS reviews compare with PoolDial’s?
On August 12, 2026, PSS showed 3.3 from three Capterra reviews and 4.1 from 43 Google Play reviews. PoolDial had three five-star ratings in Apple’s App Store as of October 28, 2026. The Google Play signal for PSS is positive, but the Capterra and PoolDial samples are too small for a confident ranking.
Does PoolDial offer a free plan like PSS?
No. PoolDial offers a 14-day trial, then charges $2 per active pool with a $40 monthly minimum. PSS includes every feature free for up to 10 properties. Check each vendor’s current offer before signing up.
Choose PoolDial for owners growing from their first customer toward their first crew who want a new foundation with a modern interface, unlimited users, and direct input into the product.
Choose Pool Service Software if the lowest published price, every feature free for up to 10 properties, or deeper chemistry, cost, inventory, and meter integrations matter most. If you already use it and it works, staying is a reasonable choice.
If your current system is working well, staying with it can be the right decision too. For a deeper look at PSS on its own, read our Pool Service Software review, or see the pool service software guide for a broader view of your options.
