PoolDial and Pro Pool Inspectors both give you pool-specific inspection checklists without building templates from scratch. They take very different approaches. Pro Pool Inspectors is the dedicated inspection specialist, built around code-based checklists and a certification program. PoolDial includes inspections inside a pool service platform, so the inspection lives next to routes, billing, and customer history.

I’m Parker Conley, the founder of PoolDial, so read this as a vendor’s comparison rather than an independent ranking.

They cover a lot of the same ground

On the inspection itself, the two products overlap more than their pricing suggests.

  • Pool-specific inspection checklists, ready to use
  • A rating for each finding
  • Photo documentation
  • PDF inspection reports
  • iOS and Android apps

The deciding factor is whether inspections are your whole business or one part of a larger service operation.

Where each one stands out

A focused tool for compliance-minded inspectors

  • Built entirely around pool inspections
  • Code-based checklists tied to ICC, ANSI, and state-specific codes
  • Reports that cite specific code references by section
  • CRPI certification to build credibility with agents and clients
  • A $29 one-time option for trying inspections

If you need code citations in your reports or the CRPI certification, Pro Pool Inspectors is built for exactly that work.

Inspections inside a pool service platform

  • 18+ sections and 70+ items with a three-tier severity rating
  • 70+ pre-written narratives for faster reports
  • Annotated photos and fully branded PDF reports
  • Customer history and chemistry on hand during the inspection
  • Routes, billing, customer records, and Cody, the AI assistant, in the same system

The tradeoff: PoolDial is newer, puts less focus on building code citations, and has no certification program.

Mobile App Experience

Both products offer iOS and Android apps, and inspections happen on site. These are each product’s own screens; the better test is one real inspection on the phone or tablet you carry.

Apple App Store 5.0 (3 ratings)

A newer product with a very small sample so far

This page has no dated rating snapshot for Pro Pool Inspectors. PoolDial’s rating was checked October 28, 2026 in Apple’s App Store. Three ratings are far too few to say much; these are platform scores, not a test of inspection quality.

How pricing compares

The pricing models are very different. Pro Pool Inspectors sells inspection software on its own. PoolDial charges $2 per serviced pool with a $40 monthly minimum, and inspections are included at no extra cost.

Plan PoolDial Pro Pool Inspectors
Entry option $40/mo minimum $29 one-time, limited features
Monthly $2 per pool per month $79/mo, full subscription
Annual No contract; cancel anytime $799/year
Example: 50 pools $100/mo, inspections, routes, and billing included $79/mo for inspections; routing, billing, and CRM need separate software

Published prices as listed in the April 2026 version of this comparison, not quotes. Confirm current plans and limits with Pro Pool Inspectors. PoolDial’s price is based on serviced pools, so a business that only inspects should ask how that applies before comparing. PoolDial pricing

Put both products through the same inspection

The right choice depends on how inspections fit your business. Give both products the same practical test:

  1. Inspect one real pool from start to finish.
  2. Rate each finding and add notes, comparing pass/fail with code references against PoolDial’s three-tier severity.
  3. Take and annotate photos of the problem areas.
  4. Generate the PDF report and send it the way you would to a client or agent.
  5. Check where the inspection record lives afterward, alongside the customer, invoice, and service history.

Then ask yourself two questions. Are inspections my whole business or one service among many? And do my clients expect code citations or a CRPI-certified inspector?

Details worth checking

Code citations
Pro Pool Inspectors ties checklist items to ICC, ANSI, and state-specific codes. PoolDial puts less focus on building code citations, so check that its checklist covers what your jurisdiction requires.
Certification
Pro Pool Inspectors offers CRPI certification. PoolDial has no certification program.
Rating scale
Pro Pool Inspectors uses pass/fail with notes. PoolDial rates each item Pass, Concern, or Safety Hazard.
Report delivery
Both produce PDF reports. PoolDial’s are branded with your logo and colors and can go out by email or through the customer portal.
Commercial pools
PoolDial’s checklists cover residential and commercial requirements, including drain safety (VGB Act), barriers and fencing, and ADA accessibility considerations. Confirm coverage for your commercial work in either product.
AI tools
PoolDial’s assistant, Cody, can help draft narratives for unusual findings. Pro Pool Inspectors did not offer AI features as of our review. Neither should decide this on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which has better inspection checklists?

They take different approaches. Pro Pool Inspectors uses code-based checklists tied to ICC, ANSI, and state-specific codes, which suits compliance-heavy inspections. PoolDial provides 18+ sections with 70+ items, a three-tier severity rating (Pass, Concern, Safety Hazard), and 70+ pre-written narratives, which suits service-oriented inspections.

Is PoolDial a good fit for a dedicated inspection business?

If inspections are your whole business, Pro Pool Inspectors’ focus, code citations, and CRPI certification may serve you better. PoolDial is currently the strongest fit for new and growing pool service businesses up to roughly 200 pools and a few employees that want inspections inside their service software.

Does Pro Pool Inspectors integrate with other pool service software?

As of our April 2026 review, Pro Pool Inspectors was a standalone tool with limited integrations and no native connection to routing, billing, or CRM platforms. If you pair it with other software, plan on keeping customer and inspection records in two places.

Is the $29 Pro Pool Inspectors plan worth it?

It is a low-risk way to try pool inspections with basic capabilities. The full feature set requires the $79/month subscription or the $799/year plan. Confirm each plan’s current limits with Pro Pool Inspectors before buying.

Can I switch from Pro Pool Inspectors to PoolDial?

PoolDial offers import and migration support. Inspection data is mostly report-based, so ask for a sample export and confirm how past reports and photos will carry over before switching.

Our Verdict: Choose Based on Fit

Choose Pro Pool Inspectors if inspections are your whole business, your reports need code-based citations, or CRPI certification matters to your clients. It is also a good fit if you already have separate tools for routing and billing that you are happy with.

Choose PoolDial for service companies growing from their first customer toward their first crew that want to add inspections without another subscription, with each report tied to the customer’s service and chemistry history.
