Pentair ScreenLogic2 App Setup and Remote Access
The ScreenLogic2 interface connects an EasyTouch or IntelliTouch automation system to a smartphone, tablet, or PC via Wi-Fi. The ScreenLogic2 Protocol Adapter is the hardware bridge that connects the automation system to your home network via a four-conductor cable to the load center COM port and an Ethernet cable to your wireless router. The ScreenLogic2 app on iOS or Android is how you interact with it from a mobile device. A PC software program is also available for configuration and control.
Hardware Overview
The ScreenLogic2 Wireless Bundle (P/N 523434) includes the Protocol Interface Adapter and Hi-Power Wireless Kit. The Protocol Adapter connects to the load center via a four-conductor 22 AWG cable and to the wireless router via an Ethernet (CAT5) cable.
Four-Wire Cable Connection (Protocol Adapter to Load Center)
The four-conductor cable connects the Protocol Adapter to the COM port on the IntelliTouch or EasyTouch circuit board. Wire color codes and terminal functions:
| Wire Color | Function | Terminal |
|---|---|---|
| BLK (Black) | Ground | 1 |
| GRN (Green) | -DT | 2 |
| YEL (Yellow) | +DT | 3 |
| RED (Red) | +15 VDC | 4 |
The Protocol Adapter receives power from the COM port in the Load Center — no separate power supply is required. The Protocol Adapter must be located inside in a dry environment, preferably near the homeowner's DSL/Cable modem.
Cable Distance Limits
| Cable Type | Maximum Length |
|---|---|
| Ethernet (CAT5) cable | 300 feet |
| Four-wire conductor cable | 1,500 feet |
Depending on location requirements, you may choose to have a long Ethernet cable run and a short four-wire cable run, or vice-versa. If the existing IntelliTouch or EasyTouch Indoor Control Panel is already installed, you can tap into its four-wire cable connector rather than running a separate cable from the load center.
System Name (SSID)
When connecting via the ScreenLogic2 app or PC software, the system appears on your network using the format "Pentair: xx-xx-xx" where xx-xx-xx is the MAC address suffix of the Protocol Adapter. This is the system name you will select when connecting to the system locally.
System Password
The default ScreenLogic2 password is blank (no password). This is stated in the manual: "The default password is blank (no password in both password boxes)." When prompted for a password on first connection, leave the password field empty.
To set a custom password, use the Configurator utility on a PC:
- Launch the ScreenLogic2 Interface from the Desktop (run as Administrator on Windows Vista through Windows 10)
- Click Configure ScreenLogic
- On the General Settings screen (Step 1 of 5), click Set Remote Access Password
- Enter the new password in both the New Password and Confirm Password fields
- Click OK to save — the same password must be used across all devices connecting to this system
- To reset to blank (default), erase the asterisks from both password fields and click OK
Installing the PC/Mac Software
The ScreenLogic2 PC software is required for initial configuration of equipment circuits, pumps, and heater settings via the Configurator utility. To download:
- Go to www.pentairpool.com and navigate to Support > Tools > Software Downloads
- Click "ScreenLogic Software for Consumers"
- Download and install the appropriate version for your operating system (Windows or Mac)
- On Windows Vista through Windows 10, right-click the ScreenLogic Connect desktop icon and choose "Run as Administrator" the first time you run it
Connecting to Your System (Local Network)
- Open the ScreenLogic2 app (iOS or Android) or launch the PC software
- The app/software will discover the system on your local network and display it by its "Pentair: xx-xx-xx" name
- Select the system and connect — enter the password if prompted (default is blank)
Your wireless router allows the iPad, iPhone, or wireless laptop to access the ScreenLogic2 Interface from anywhere in and around your home up to approximately 150 feet from the wireless router. Range is limited by walls, ceilings, and objects the wireless signal must pass through.
System Synchronization
The ScreenLogic2 Interface Protocol Adapter queries the IntelliTouch or EasyTouch Control System configuration when it first starts up and will continue to query the system every 30 minutes thereafter. If you make a change to the control system configuration (reconfigure circuits, pumps, programs, etc.) from the indoor or outdoor control panel, cycle power to the Protocol Adapter to force an immediate system synchronization. The ScreenLogic2 Interface will eventually detect new changes on its own, but this can take up to 30 minutes. Restarting the Protocol Adapter is the quickest way to synchronize.

Wireless Interference Notes
If you experience dropped wireless connections, consider the following from the Pentair manual:
- Keep the number of walls and ceilings between the wireless router and your device to a minimum — each wall or ceiling can reduce range by 3–90 feet
- Keep the wireless router at least 3–6 feet away from electrical devices that generate RF noise (microwaves, monitors, electric motors, UPS units)
- 2.4 GHz cordless phones or X-10 wireless products can dramatically degrade wireless connection — these all use the 2.4 GHz frequency
- If using multiple wireless controllers (MobileTouch, EasyTouch Wireless Remote, iS4 QuickTouch), ensure each transceiver is located at least 6 ft apart to avoid digital interference
