About This Tool

This interactive troubleshooting wizard is designed specifically for the Pentair ScreenLogic2 interface system, which provides wireless and remote control of IntelliTouch and EasyTouch pool automation systems via smartphones, tablets, and computers. Whether you are a homeowner unable to connect the app to your pool system or a service technician diagnosing protocol adapter communication faults, this wizard adapts to your role and provides the appropriate level of guidance.

Select the "Homeowner" role for safe, practical checks you can perform yourself, or switch to "Technician" mode for detailed diagnostic procedures including network configuration, protocol adapter resets, and wiring verification. Each symptom card links to a comprehensive written guide when you need to go deeper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my ScreenLogic2 app say "Looking for Controller"?

The "Looking for Controller" message appears when the ScreenLogic2 app cannot communicate with the Protocol Adapter for more than 60 seconds. First, make sure your device is connected to the same WiFi network as the Protocol Adapter and wireless router. If it was working before, try a cold boot of the ScreenLogic2 device. Next, locate the Protocol Adapter and wireless router, verify the router power LED is on, and cycle power to both devices. You can reset the Protocol Adapter by pressing the recessed reset button with a paperclip. Finally, verify the wiring between the Protocol Adapter and the IntelliTouch or EasyTouch Load Center.

I changed my router and now ScreenLogic2 won't connect. What do I do?

After a network hardware change, the Protocol Adapter may have a configuration conflict with the new router. Locate the Protocol Adapter and use the end of a paperclip to press the reset button three times within five seconds (approximately half a second between presses). This resets the Protocol Adapter's network settings back to DHCP addressing, which should make it visible on your new local area network. You may then need to reconnect the ScreenLogic2 app to the adapter.

What do the system alert messages on the Delays & Alerts screen mean?

The Delays & Alerts screen constantly monitors system sensors and equipment communication. System alerts include: Pool Water Temp Sensor, Spa Water Temp Sensor, and Air Sensor errors (indicating a faulty or disconnected temperature sensor); Pump Communication Lost (IntelliFlo data cable issue); Chlorinator Communication Lost (IntelliChlor wiring fault); and pH/ORP Communication Lost (IntelliChem controller issue). If an alert is detected, it displays in yellow on the screen. Each alert points to a specific equipment communication or sensor wiring problem that should be investigated.

How do I connect to my pool system remotely over the internet?

Use the "ScreenLogic Connect" application, downloadable from pentairpool.com. After installing, enter your system name in the format "Pentair: xx-xx-xx" where xx-xx-xx is the last six digits of the Protocol Adapter serial number found on the adapter itself. Enter the remote access password that was set in the General Settings (Step 1 of 5) configuration dialog. If no password was assigned, leave the box blank. Click "Start ScreenLogic" to connect. You can check "Remember Login info" to save your credentials for future sessions.

How many ScreenLogic2 devices can connect to one system?

You can install one Protocol Adapter per IntelliTouch or EasyTouch Control System. However, a total of four ScreenLogic2 interfaces (devices) can be used simultaneously with that single Protocol Adapter. This means up to four family members or technicians can monitor and control the pool system at the same time from different phones, tablets, or computers.

Can I use this troubleshooter if I am not a pool professional?

Yes. Select the "Homeowner" role and the wizard will show only the checks that are safe and practical for a non-professional to perform. Technician-level steps such as wiring verification, protocol adapter diagnostics, and load center inspections are hidden unless you switch to Technician mode. Always follow the safety warnings on screen, and consult a licensed pool service professional for any repair involving electrical wiring or control board work.
