Open the Installer/Service menu by holding UP and MENU for at least three seconds. Record Fault History and sensor temperatures before clearing anything. Status messages such as Comp Start Delay and Defrost are normal operating states, while the error table below calls for diagnosis.

Safety: Disconnect electrical power and follow the manual before opening equipment. Gas, combustion, line-voltage, pressurized-water, and refrigerant work belongs to qualified service personnel.

Normal operating messages

Display or symptomWhat it meansManual-backed check
Comp Start DelayThe compressor is in its three-minute anti-short-cycle delay.Wait; the manual also documents UP and DOWN together as a bypass.
Valve Chng DelayThe pool/spa valves are being repositioned.Wait for the valve-change sequence to finish.
DefrostThe unit is performing a defrost cycle. No repair is indicated by this message alone.
Outside LockoutAmbient temperature is below the configured lockout value.Verify the setting and compare the ambient-sensor value with actual temperature.
No DemandThe temperature demand is satisfied. No repair is indicated.

Error messages

Display or symptomWhat it meansManual-backed check
Amb / Coil / H2O / Aux Sensor FailThe named sensor circuit is open or shorted.Inspect the named sensor and wiring, then replace the sensor if confirmed faulty.
Hi Press TripThe high-pressure switch is preventing compressor operation.Check water flow and switch operation; refrigerant work requires qualified service.
Lo Press TripThe low-pressure switch is preventing compressor operation.Check switch operation and refrigerant charge through qualified service.
Hi Press LockoutSeven high-pressure trips occurred in one demand cycle.Check low water flow and refrigerant charge. The four-hour lockout can auto-reset or be reset with MENU/power after repair.
Lo Press LockoutSix low-pressure trips occurred in one demand cycle.Check refrigerant charge. The four-hour lockout can auto-reset or be reset with MENU/power after repair.
BrownoutThe 24 VAC supply is too low for compressor operation. It must exceed 17 VAC for more than four seconds; check supply and transformer output.
Hi Water TempWater temperature is at or above 108°F.Water must fall below 103°F and UP must be pressed to reset.
Remote ErrorPool and spa remote inputs are both energized.Correct remote terminal-block wiring.
Water PS OpenThe water pressure/flow switch is open.Check pump operation, filter, valves, flow, and Pump Operation settings.
Control Fault 1–8The control detected a relay, memory, execution, converter, multiplexer, interrupt, or clock fault.Allow the documented one-hour auto reset or recycle power; replace the control if the fault continues.
