Service Log
stop writing chemical readings on a piece of paper in your truck
some single polers who use PoolDial:
I know how most pool guys track their chemical readings. They don't. Or they scribble numbers on a clipboard. Or they type them into the notes app on their phone with no structure whatsoever. "Johnson pool, cl 3, ph 7.4, added 2 tabs." Good luck finding that six months from now.
Some guys use a spreadsheet. Some use a notebook that lives in the center console and gets soaked in pool water twice a week. Some just try to remember.
I'm one guy and I built PoolDial for single polers like you.
The service log in PoolDial lets you log chemical readings straight from your phone at every stop. Chlorine, pH, alkalinity, CYA, calcium hardness, salt, filter PSI. Tap the numbers in, hit save, move on. Takes about 15 seconds.
stop detail on the left, chemical readings on the right. that's it.
Every reading gets saved to that customer's history. So next week when you pull up to the same pool, you can see exactly what the numbers were last time. And the time before that. And every time you've ever been there.
I built this because every pool guy I talked to was doing the same thing. Keeping readings in their head or on paper and then losing it. Then a customer calls and says "what was my chlorine last month?" and you have no answer.
Here's what the service log does:
- Log chlorine, pH, alkalinity, CYA, calcium, salt, and filter PSI
- Automatic LSI (Langelier Saturation Index) calculations
- Dosing recommendations based on pool volume and current readings
- Full service history for every customer
- Attach photos and notes to each visit
- See trends over weeks and months
- Works from your phone at the pool
30-day free trial. if you ask me I'll onboard you for free.
The LSI stuff is actually really useful. PoolDial calculates it automatically every time you log readings. You don't have to pull out a chart or use a separate calculator. It just tells you if the water is corrosive, scaling, or balanced. Green means good. Red means fix it.
Same thing with dosing. You enter what the readings are and PoolDial tells you how much of each chemical to add based on the pool's volume. No more mental math in the Texas heat trying to remember how many ounces of muriatic acid to add to a 15,000 gallon pool to drop pH by 0.2.
You can also attach photos to any service visit. Took a picture of a cracked pump lid? It's saved right there with the date and the readings. Customer says their pool was green when you came? You've got the photo that proves it wasn't.
Notes too. "Dog got out again, had to chase it back in." "Homeowner asked about a heater install." "Filter needs replacing next month." All saved, all searchable, all tied to the right customer.
If you're using Skimmer or a spreadsheet right now, I'll transfer all your data over for free. Just sign up and ask.
