Waterway Carefree Sand Filter Diagnostic Guide
The Carefree manual covers the sand tank, seven-position multi-port valve, and packaged Hi-Flo II pump. Start by separating an electrical no-start or overload from a suction restriction, a return restriction, dirty sand, or a filtration and water-balance problem.
Safety: This is a pressurized vessel. Never loosen the collar while the system is running, and never move the multi-port valve with the pump running. Turn the pump off before every valve-position change. Electrical measurements, wiring correction, and recurring breaker or thermal-overload trips belong to qualified service.
Pump and motor symptoms
